storm update

Alex has decided to turn more west so we as of right now are out of the hurricaine cone. However they are predicting over 10 inches of rain and of course wind and storm surges for the island. The heavy rain has started already so as of 8:30 this Wed. morning I have closed the office. The low spots have a lot of water puddled in them already. We will have to wait to see what happens when Alex (108) miles away right now makes landfall, will keep you posted as I can.

The reports continue with Brownsville being part of Alex's target zone. The beginning of strong winds are suppose to start Wed. afternoon so the POA office is closing at noon on Wed. and will be closed for the probable Hurricaine 2 on Thurs. When we have communication available we will keep everyone posted as we can. County offices are also closing by noon on Wed.

Pool update and weather

Pool repairs are on hold for the upcoming storm. We are unable to work on it this week.
So far the projections show Alex heading our way. The mayor of South Padre Island has ordered a voluntary evacuation and mandatory evacuation of all RVs on the island.
We have put everything at clubhouse away in prepartion. The office will be closed on Thursday due to the projected landfall at 7am at Matamoras. This is for the safety of all employees.
